Santorini is best for small, dramatic ceremonies — clifftop terraces holding 20–60 guests — rather than sprawling receptions. Marry in May–June or September–early October; July and August are hot, crowded and premium-priced. Guests fly via Athens year-round, with direct European charters in season. Legal weddings for foreigners are well-trodden here, though many couples still choose a symbolic ceremony.

2. Amalfi Coast, Italy

Positano and Ravello serve pure Mediterranean drama — lemon groves, cliffside villas, pastel towns stacked above the sea. It's among the pricier options on this list and the logistics are vertical (stairs, boats and shuttle-vans feature heavily), but few places photograph like it. Best months: May, June and September. Guests fly into Naples, then transfer by road or ferry — build that last leg into your travel notes.

Faro airport is served by low-cost carriers from all over Europe — often the cheapest guest flights on this list.

6. Mallorca, Spain

Mallorca packs Tuscan-grade fincas, mountain villages and Mediterranean coves onto one island with one very well-connected airport. It's a favourite for stylish 60–100 guest weddings with a house-party feel. May, June and September are the sweet spots. 7. Lake Como, Italy
